Code of Ethics – Yug Abhiyaan Times
Yug Abhiyaan Times, as a proud member of the Digital News Publishers Association, adheres to a voluntarily established Code of Ethics for responsible digital journalism. This code upholds Article 19(1)(a) of the Constitution of India and aims to maintain high standards in digital news publishing while defending editorial freedom.
Editorial Independence
Our operations remain editorially independent. This code is not intended to interfere in day-to-day publishing but outlines ethical standards and best practices.
Core Principles
- Follow all applicable laws including the Constitution of India, IPC, CrPC, and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
- Maintain journalistic integrity through internal editorial checks.
Accuracy, Transparency & Fairness
- Avoid publishing inaccurate, misleading, or defamatory content.
- Mandatory pre-publication verification of news.
Right of Reply
Any person or party mentioned in a report shall have the right to respond. If received later, responses will be incorporated with an update timestamp.
Corrections & Takedowns
In case of false or inaccurate reporting, content will be edited or deleted upon receiving verified correction material.
Respect for Intellectual Property
We respect copyright, trademarks, and service marks. Prior permission and attribution are ensured wherever applicable.
Sensitive & Crime Reporting
- Preserve presumption of innocence. Avoid speculation and biased reporting.
- Exercise special caution while reporting sexual crimes, child abuse, and communal disputes.
IT Act Compliance (Sections 67, 67A, 67B)
Strict compliance with IT Act provisions on obscene or explicit material is followed.
Grievance Redressal Mechanism
As intermediaries, we follow IT (Intermediary Guidelines) Rules, 2011. A Grievance Officer responds within 36 hours and resolves complaints within 30 days.
Training & Editorial Awareness
Periodic training is conducted on laws like the Copyright Act, POCSO, RTI, IPC, CrPC, Juvenile Justice, and others for editorial staff.
Privacy & Identification Protection
- Identities of victims or juveniles are never disclosed in our reports.
- No publication of photographs, residence, or workplace of affected individuals.
Reporting on Courts & Judicial Matters
Judicial matters are reported accurately without prejudicing any proceedings. Legislative privileges are respected.
Respect for Privacy
Privacy is respected for individuals, especially those not in public life, unless public interest justifies disclosure.
